No Heating
Gas Safe Reg. 980201• Same-day across Bradford, Leeds & Yorkshire
If your radiators are stone cold but the boiler appears to be running — or the boiler isn't firing at all — it's almost always one of a handful of fixable faults. We see this every day across Bradford, Leeds and West Yorkshire and most no-heating call-outs are sorted in a single visit.

Most likely causes
- 1Low system pressure (most common — needs repressurising to 1.0–1.5 bar)
- 2Diverter valve stuck on hot water (combi boilers — common after summer)
- 3Faulty room thermostat or batteries dead in a wireless stat
- 4Pump seized after a long idle period
- 5Air locked in the system — radiators need bleeding
- 6Frozen condensate pipe (winter only — outside white plastic pipe)
- 7PCB / control board failure on older boilers
What you can safely check first
Look at the dial on the front of the boiler — it should read 1.0–1.5 bar when cold. Below 0.5 bar means the boiler will lock out. You can usually top up via the silver filling loop underneath.
Make sure the room thermostat is set above current room temperature and that wireless stats have fresh batteries. Programmer should be set to 'On' or within a heating schedule.
If your gas hob doesn't light either, you may have a wider gas supply issue — call your supplier first.
- Smell of gas — leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999
- Vulnerable person, baby or elderly relative in the property
- Boiler is making banging, kettling or unusual noises
